Too Much Candy
So that’s about it for Halloween this year. We had a passel of pumpkins; here’s the photos:
I’ve never done anything but pretty much straight-forward faces, so I thought this year I’d go way off script and try an image of a witch on a broomstick. Hey, witches are supposed to be part of Halloween too, but they get the short end of the broomstick most Halloweens in the decorations department. We used this one as the lure, out by the street.
We have a tradition of using aliens in our Halloween decorations. This year, we had been planning to do a big pirate thing, but that fell through, so we did what we could: an alien pirate, complete with eyepatch.
We were showing movies in the garage during prime trick-or-treat hours, so we had to lead the little waifs to the garage door from the front porch. We thought of “THIS WAY”, but that was a lot of carving. At the last minute, having done a couple of plain arrows, I carved a letter from “CANDY” into each one, and we spread them out from the front door, handily blocked by a big coffin (thanks Joe, Karin, and Karen!), to the garage door.
Finally, at the garage, a bog-classic happy face with moon eyes and square teeth.
Hope you all had a great Halloween!
love the candy pumpkin… i can’t even write that legibly let alone carve a pumpkin with letters like that. awesomeness.
thanks for the movie, very good mysterious halloween fodder, and all the treats. you keep the happy in halloween.
